Common questions
Departure times look wrong or a train is missing
All times come straight from the MTA’s live real-time feeds. We show exactly what the MTA publishes, so during service changes, feed outages, or gaps on the MTA’s side, some trains may be delayed, missing, or briefly inaccurate. For official service alerts, check new.mta.info.
Nearby stations aren’t showing up
The “Nearby” feature needs location permission. Make sure it’s enabled in iOS Settings → Subway Times → Location(set to “While Using the App”). You can always find any station by searching instead — location is optional.
A station or line is missing
We cover the NYC subway complexes in the MTA’s published data. If you think something’s missing or mislabeled, email us the station name and we’ll take a look.
The home-screen widget isn’t updating
Open the app once so it can refresh the latest departures for the widget, and make sure the station you want is saved as a favorite. iOS controls exactly when widgets refresh, so there can be a short delay between updates.
